Step 11 – Final details and decoration

Floor, walls and ceiling? Check
Furniture? Check
Electricity and water connected? Check
Now you can finish the final details and decorate your van. This is totally up to you. We’ll discuss the things we added to our van to make it a little cozier.

Under our overhead cabinets we attached a LED-strip and in our garage we hung up a LED-strip for extra light too. 
We cleaned our van doors, removed scratches and made new door panels, as the old ones were too dirty to reuse. To these new panels we attached small net baskets to store some tiny stuff.
To the walls in our kitchen we attached stick tiles as a backsplash and a little shelve for soap and some decoration.
To our wall next to the bed we attached a world map as decoration and photo frames.
In front of the windows and doors we hung up curtains for our privacy and to keep the cold out. In the same kind of fabric we also made pillows for our seats to sit a little more comfortable.

Last but not least we went to IKEA for our household effects, such as bedsheets, pots and pans, rubbish bins… . When choosing these stuff, think about how you are going to keep these things from moving. Inside our cabins we provided anti-slip underlay and for decoration on top we used gel pads.
