Where is the Eiffel Tower located?
The Eiffel Tower is located in France’s capital Paris, often nicknamed ‘the City of Love‘. More specifically it is situated in the 7th arrondissement of the city. Despite being in the more southwestern part of Paris, it is considered the heart of the city.
The Eiffel Tower is surrounded by many places where you can take beautiful photos. For example, on one side you will find the River Seine, and on the other side the large lawn of the Champs de Mars, where many people come to picnic every day. But the surrounding, cute, typical French streets also get an extra touch because of the view they offer of the Eiffel Tower.
As you can see, there are plenty of nice photography spots in Paris, including these 9 best Eiffel Tower photo spots.
Fun fact: Did you know that the Eiffel Tower is not the most visited attraction? Contrary to popular belief, the Eiffel Tower is only ranked fourth among the most visited attractions in Paris. The Notre Dame is the most visited (before the fire), Sacré-Coeur Basilica is ranked second, followed by the Louvre Museum in third place.
1. Avenue de Camoens
Avenue de Camoens is a small street with a lot of Parisian Charm. The beautiful balustrade and classic lampposts in this street create this picture’s perfect setting with a beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower. This cute, little street should be on everyone’s Paris bucket list. The picture is so perfect that it has become a real Instagram hotspot. fortunately, it is not yet overrun by large masses, but expect to see a few other people here.
When to visit Avenue de Camoens
Normally this place doesn’t get too crowded, so you can visit almost the whole day. You only have to keep in mind the position of the sun depending on what kind of vibe you want your picture to have. If you like to have this place all to yourself, you have the best chance if you go early in the morning.

5. Pont d'Alexandre III
One of the prettiest bridges in Paris is Pont d’Alexandre III over the Seine River. The bridge is beautifully decorated and is therefore also a wonderful place for taking photos, with or without the Eiffel Tower in the background. Besides the view of the Eiffel Tower, the bridge also offers some stunning views over the rest of the city of Paris.
When to visit Pont d'Alexandre III
There’s plenty of space at this bridge to take a shot, so there’s not a specific moment you should go. Although we heard it’s the most beautiful at sunset.

Together with Place du Trocadéro, it is one of the most popular Eiffel Tower photo spots.

Bonus: a sparkling Eiffel Tower at night
As soon as darkness falls over Paris, the Eiffel Tower is beautifully illuminated until 11.45 pm, creating another beautiful photo opportunity. On top of that, every hour you have the chance to see the Eiffel Tower sparkling for a few minutes, as long as the Eiffel Tower lights are on. Yet another extra feature that makes it even more magical.
When does the Eiffel Tower Sparkle
Every evening, at the start of each hour, the Eiffel Tower sparkles for 5 minutes. The first time it starts to sparkle depends on what time it first gets dark. This is measured and controlled by light sensors. The last time is always at 11 pm, as the Eiffel Tower lights are completely turned off at 11.45 pm.

What a great resource. I lived in Paris for over 10 years and did not know some of these spots. I can highly recommend going to the top of the Arc de Triomphe (located at the end of the Champs-Élysées) for a nice view. You can also go to the top of the Arc de Triomphe at night and see the Eiffel Tower sparkle.
We’ve never been to the top of the Arc de Triomphe. Thanks for the tip! We’ll definitely check it out on our next time in paris!
