1. Stornappstinden
68° 10′ N, 13° 15′ E
We immediately start with one of our favorite hikes in Lofoten: Stornappstinden. It is the most prominent mountain at the eastern edge of Flakstadøya island. The hike to the top is tough, but it offers a truly breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains, fjords, and the Norwegian Sea. You have to gain a lot of altitude in a very short distance, but as soon as you reach the top, you immediately forget how much you suffered.

2. Mannen
68° 12′ N, 13° 31′ E
The hike up to Mannen can be described in four words: Low effort, incredible views. This mountain is located on Vestvagoy, next to the famous Haukland beach. It is one of the more famous hikes in Lofoten because you get some amazing views of Haukland Beach. It is also a relatively easy hike to Lofoten standards. The trail is short and not very steep, so it is the perfect opportunity if you are not an experienced hiker but still want to enjoy some breathtaking Lofoten views.

3. Reinebringen
30° 19′ N, 35° 28′ E
Reinebringen is probably one of the most famous and iconic hikes in Lofoten. It is located next to the well-known and picturesque fishing village of Reine. The hike itself is very accessible because a large staircase of 1978 steps is constructed all the way to the top. Despite the stairs, it is still known to be a steep and demanding hike due to the high elevation over a short distance. At the top, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, fjords, and the iconic Reine village. Know that this trail can get very busy, due to its popularity, and the parking area fills up quickly.

4. Offersøykammen
68° 09′ N, 13° 30′ E
The Offersøykammen is a mountain on the western side of Vestvågøya and is surrounded by the waters of the Nappstraumen. From the top, you have an incredible 360° view of the surrounding mountains and islands. It’s not a very challenging hike, but also not the easiest. Believe us if we say it is definitely worth the effort. There are two parking lots with each their own starting point, giving you the option to choose for a short and steep hike or a longer and less steep one. The summit of Offersøykammen is the perfect place to watch the sun setting into the endless ocean or experience the magic of the midnight sun in northern Norway.

5. Festvågtind
68° 12′ N, 14° 14′ E
Festvågtind is a beautiful hike located in Henningsvaer. This town is most famous for its iconic soccer field. The best-known image of this soccer field is of course from the sky, because it doesn’t look that spectacular from below. Now you’re probably thinking you need a drone to get a nice view from above, but listen up: you don’t need a drone to see it from above.
From Festvagtind, you get an incredible view over Henningsvaer, but also of the surrounding mountains and fjords. It’s one of the more challenging hikes in Lofoten because the trail gets very steep in some parts. However, the 360° view from the top is absolutely breathtaking and well worth the effort!

Ryten is an impressive mountain, located in Lofotodden National Park, one of the most famous hiking areas in Lofoten. It is a well-known hike in Lofoten, because of its incredible view on the famous Kvalvika beach. You can choose to hike up directly to the summit of Ryten, or you can make a detour and also pay a visit to Kvalvika Beach. Whatever you choose, you will definitely be rewarded with some spectacular views.
Note: You might encounter some sheep on the trail. Remember not to disturb them and keep your dog on a leash. As Ryten is located in the Lofotodden National Park, drones are NOT allowed.

7. Kvalvika beach
68° 04′ N, 13° 05′ E
Kvalvika beach is a beautiful remote beach in Lofoten and can only be reached by foot or by boat. From Kvalvika beach, you can enjoy some beautiful views of the Ryten mountain and experience the magical midnight sun or a spectacular sunset over the ocean. It is also the perfect place to spend a night under the stars on a beach. If you are lucky, you can even witness the light spectacle of the Northern Lights from the end of August on a clear night. Can it get even more magical?
And we have more good news: hiking to the beach is quite easy and not too demanding at all. There are different hiking trails to get to Kvalvika Beach.
