10x Best Things to Do on Nusa Lembongan & Ceningan

Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan are two tranquil tropical islands, nestled just off the southeast coast of Bali. They are part of the Nusa islands trio and are considered the smaller sisters of the biggest and third island Nusa Penida. While Nusa Penida is known for its dramatic cliffs, these smaller islands are renowned for their pristine beaches, a vibrant underwater world and laid-back atmosphere. While there’s less to do there, compared to Penida, these islands are definitely worth a visit too. They are connected to each other by the iconic yellow bridge, creating the perfect island escape with plenty of things to do on Nusa Lembongan & Ceningan.

The seaweed farms on Nusa Lembongan is beautiful sight, watching the activity of the seaweed farmers. The local residents cultivate marine algae along the shoreline. At low tide, you can see them engaging in their daily routine of planting, harvesting and drying the seaweed. When the seaweed is dried, it is used in different products, such as cosmetics and food.

You can see the seaweed farms just from the shoreline, or you can have a smoothie, while watching the seaweed farmers taking care of their seaweed farm.

Cross the Yellow Bridge

Nusa Lembongan is connected to Nusa Ceningan with the iconic yellow bridge, or ‘love bridge’. This makes it very easy to visit these islands together or take a day trip from one island to the other. The bridge is only just wide enough for 2 scooters to cross, so you won’t see cars driving over it. Of course, you can also just cross the bridge on foot if you’re up for a walk on the islands. It is both a practical facility and a very photogenic landmark!

Blue Lagoon

One of the most famous places on Nusa Ceningan is the Blue Lagoon. It is a beautiful viewpoint from where you can admire the clear, turquoise blue waters from the cliffs. We heard that it is also a cliff jumping spot here. Yet you have to be careful here because of the changing conditions of the water. Nevertheless, it is also a must-visit spot for people who are not that much into adrenaline because of the beautiful color palette and views that you can see here.
